The Laboratory of Intelligent and Quantum Photonics is housed within the Department of EECS at UC Berkeley.. Our research focuses on new optical computing architectures and neuromorphic devices for low-energy and high-density computing, leveraging the power of light with large bandwidth and low loss in data movement. Beyond computing, our expertises in ultrafast optics, laser interferometry and integrated optics are exploited for molecular sensing, parallel light detection and ranging (Lidar), and volumetric imaging, with significant improvements in acquisition speed, sensitivity, accuracy, and resolving power, etc.
